Certified Nutrition & Wellness Coach (NASM)

Hi, I’m Emily Robbert.

Ever since I can remember, I have been interested in health. However, like so many growing up in the United States, I did not know how to truly fuel and support my body to promote long-term health and well-being.

After moving overseas as a young adult, I began emotional and stress eating as a coping mechanism. As a result, I noticed a negative shift in my physical and emotional health. I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) following a prolonged case of acute mononucleosis. My nervous system was overtaxed, and I was functioning at an all-time low at the age of 20. Something had to change.

I slowly started to change my diet. I started cutting out refined sugar and artificial ingredients. I made healthier swaps and cooked more at home. Small changes over years, including transitioning to a plant-based whole-foods diet, have transformed my life. I am now able to show up for my family and daily life because I have the tools to fuel my body, rest and recover, and sustain healthy coping strategies during stressful seasons.

Through my personal health journey, I have experienced firsthand how diet and lifestyle factors directly impact physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I believe that with the right information, plan, and support, anyone can improve their quality of life through small, doable, cumulative, healthy habits built from scratch.

My Approach

During my undergraduate degree, my interest in the five Blue Zones, areas in the world known to have the longest-living and healthiest people, was piqued. Inspired by these groups of centenarians, I delved into the research, studying the diet and lifestyle factors that made them so unique. My research led to a deep passion for understanding how these factors could be emulated in any context to reduce the risk of lifestyle diseases.

Additionally, my experience studying abroad in Japan, Italy, Spain, and Morocco, and living abroad in southern Africa for eight years has shaped my coaching philosophy, which is globally-minded and longevity-focused. In practice, that looks like science-backed, evidence-based methods for building lasting skills for long-term behavioral change to increase one’s healthspan based on the research from the Blue Zones.

The research supports that chronic lifestyle disease does not have to be the norm. Through the From Scratch Nutrition and Wellness Coaching packages, you will gain practical tools to change how you think about your health as well as actionable steps to support your goals.
